To recall an item, use the "Place Requests" feature in the MadCat Library Catalog.

Placing a recall means that the person who currently has the item is notified to bring it back, at which point it will be held for you.

The person who originally checked out the item is entitled to keep it for the full 28 day loan period. Once a recall is placed on the item, he or she will be unable to renew it. If the item has already been renewed, the patron who has it, is allowed 10 days to return it.

You may place a recall only on an item which is currently checked out or renewed. You will receive a notice when the item is available. Notices for law students are placed in their hang file and notices for most other users are mailed. You can also check the MadCat Library Catalog using the patron information feature to find out whether the item is available or your request is still pending.

You may also ask the Circulation Desk Assistant to place a recall for you.
