Law Library Copy Center

The Copy Center is a service provided to Law Library users because so many volumes in the library do not circulate. The Copy Center is always open when the Library is open.

Copy Center Staff

The office within the Copy Center is staffed by Student Copy Assistants who can assist you with copy machine questions and concerns. Staff hours are posted near the door to the office. Student Copy Assistants are knowledgeable about fixing jams, replacing toner, adding paper, and use of the machines in general. This semester two law students are working in the Copy Center Office: Jay Lee and Kenia Seoane. Additional staff includes Amy Wiley, who handles record-keeping, and Mark Theby, Supervisor. Be sure to ask these folks for help if you have questions or problems using the machines.

Location of Copiers, Etc.

In addition to the four copy machines in the main Copy Center on the 5th floor, there is also a Copy Room on 3 East (room 3350) conveniently located near the journals. We also have two microform reader-printers in the Microforms Room on 2 West (room 2385). The Reference Librarians or Gloria Holz (our Interlibrary Loan, Outreach, and Microforms Librarian) can assist you with the microforms collection and copying on the second floor.
Debitcard Machine

The Debitcard machine in the Copy Center disseminates cards that may be used in libraries campuswide. You may add $1, $5, $10, or $20 to the cards at any time. Each photocopy is $.10 per copy in the copiers and the microform reader-printers. The laser printers near the Reference Desk and in the Computer Lab charge $.07 per copy. The Debitcard operation on campus is centralized at Debitcard Centralized Processing in Memorial Library, so problems with the cards may occasionally be referred to room 348A Memorial Library.
Staplers, Etc.

The Library Copy Center provides staplers and a paper cutter for your use. The large Xerox 5345 copier has a built-in stapler. Instructions are on the machine, or you can ask the Copy Assistant for a demonstration. All documents containing over 20 pages should be taken to the Law School Copy Center for stapling (Room 2246).
Noise Levels

Occasionally the volume level in the Library Copy Center is quite loud due to the noise of the machines combined with people trying to talk over that noise. We encourage consideration on the part of all library users and suggest that Copy Center users refrain from trying to talk over the machines. Please be aware that this noise carries into the Grand Reading Room and is disruptive to other students who are studying.
