APP	Appellant's brief
PET	Petitioner's brief (Supreme Court only)
RES	Respondent's brief
REP	Reply brief
AC	Amicus Curiae brief
GAL	Guardian Ad Litem brief
APDX	Used after APP, RES, REP, AC, or GAL to signify an Appendix
SUPP	Supplemental brief (For example, SUPP APP is Supplemental Appellant's brief)
CROSS	Cross Appellant's brief or Cross Respondent's brief or a combination (For example, CROSS RES APDX is Cross Respondent's Appendix brief. )

Note: Indexing the briefs is sometimes subjective so use the designations to assist you in locating briefs. However, if you are unsure of which brief you are looking for simply open up each record within a particular docket number until you find the brief you need.
